GIG-BE (Global Information Grid Bandwidth Expansion): By Light installed and turned up the largest government network ever built: The GIG-BE. Our highly trained engineers provided a turn key solution with over 70 personnel supporting the demanding requirements worldwide for all 86+ sites. In addition, By Light provided optical network engineering, implementation, & project control worldwide. We also provided the Telecommunications System Implementation Plan (TSIP) for the GIG-BE program with an industry leading Program Management support team.
SOCOM SCAMPI Network Design and Implementation: By Light provided the engineering design, equipment installation, and network turn up for a DoD EOIP (Every Thing Over IP) Secure Network Implementation. This effort provided a turn key solution that includes the design, procurement, installation, and network activation of the SCAMPI network in support of the United States Special Operations Command (USSOCOM). By Light was awarded the first three sites of this 30 node upgrade.
PEO EIS Technology Applications Office: By Light provided the design/build services encompassing all areas of networking, integration and infrastructure including integration with SATCOM facilities, custom power systems and deployable communications packages. By Light had teams specializing in austere deployments including short and long term deployments in the CENTCOM AOR
INTELSAT GENERAL iDirect Hub Implementation: Our team completed the engineering, design, and equipment installation at three commercial teleports worldwide. This effort has enhanced Intelsat General's ability to provide premium IP over satellite service to its unique high priority government clients.
OCONUS DoD Network Design and Implementation: By Light provided a turn key command and control communications for mission-critical DoD customers in Afghanistan and Iraq. Supporting over 500 war-fighters in Afghanistan alone, By Light flawlessly designed state-of-the-art telecommunications centers that fulfilled voice, video and data requirements. Our extensive expertise in satellite communications has proven to be instrumental in our overall success.
DISA Tier III Lab Design and Implementation: By Light performed the design, integration, installation, and cutover of DISA's GIG-BE TIER III Test and Management Facility located in Arlington, VA. The TIER III Facility provides a
carrier class network test facility encompassing all of the GIG technology areas.
By Light performed all aspects of the site build to include all the necessary hardware and software components. In addition to these activities is site preparation including rack and cable management infrastructure, fiber optic and unshielded twister pair (UTP) installation, termination and testing, fiber optic characterization, bit error rate testing, SONET testing and IP traffic generation testing. The final step in the integration process is the site turn-up and activation. This process is in the process of being accomplished by the execution of a detailed test plan, which tests each individual hardware and software item as well as thoroughly testing the system as an integrated, functional optical node.
