Bob Donahue, President & Founder
Bob Donahue JR. is the President and Founder of By Light. Bobs in-depth expertise in the Government Telecommunication Sector has been the driving force behind the rapid growth of the company. Prior to joining the By Light Team, Bob served as the Program Manager for the DISN Expansion Program, the first Government owned transport infrastructure. Bob's experiences include extensive real world experience in both Tactical and Strategic Telecommunications support with the DoD. Bob has a Master of Science degree in Telecommunications and a Bachelors of Science Degree in computer Science.


LTG (Ret) Robert Donahue, Chief Executive Officer
Prior to joining By Light, LTG (Ret) Donahue served as Senior Vice President and Client Industry Executive for Business Development. In this capacity, Bob was responsible for overall management of EDS' relationship with the U.S. Army, DFAS, DISA, the Army Personnel Community, the Army National Guard and various Staff Activities within the Pentagon. Bob also served on the EDS CEO staff supporting the President's National Security Telecommunications Advisory Committee. While on active Duty, Bob Served as the Deputy Director of NATO Communications and Information Systems Agency (NATO C3), Commanding General of the U.S. Army Signal School, Director of the Joint Tactical Communications Office and Deputy Assistant Chief of Staff for Information Management.


Don Cole, Senior Vice President & Chief Operations Officer
In July 2004, Don joined By Light as Vice President responsible for Business Development and Operations where he has provided proven leadership in support of Department of Defense programs. He has extensive proven experience in the telecommunications arena with more than 30 years of successful management and business development experience in large-scale telecommunications projects. He has held various positions throughout his 28-year career with AT&T in sales, marketing and program management responsible for expanding high technology programs with the Department of Defense, the Federal civilian agencies and foreign governments. Following AT&T, Don joined Qwest Communications Government Systems as Senior Director, DoD Programs to develop the defense market for Qwest and provide leadership and management for all project activities supporting the Defense Department. He also established and managed the Qwest team supporting the Governments National Coordination Center (NCC) for telecommunications and the President's National Security telecommunications Advisory Committee (NSTAC).


Mike Bowser, Senior Vice President for Business Development
Mike has been developing and delivering DWDM, SONET, ATM and IP solutions to the Federal Government for more than 14 years. Prior to joining By Light, Mike served as Vice President of Federal Systems for LAMBDA OPTICALSYSTEMS, where he focused on 3D MEMS based all-optical-switching and metro DWDM platforms. He also lead worldwide sales efforts at Acorn Networks, a semiconductor manufacturer specializing is OC-192 traffic shaping and hardware based QoS solutions.  Mike has also served as a Global Account Manager for Fore Systems/Marconi where he directed all aspects of the USAF sales territory. Prior to Fore Systems, Mike held engineering management positions with DynCorp and Harris Corporation. He holds Bachelors of Science degrees in Computer Engineering and Business Administration and is a distinguished graduate of the Defense Language University.


 
John D. South, Chief Financial Officer
John South joined the By-Light Team in March of 2006. John has held several executive and senior-level finance positions with several telecommunications companies, namely TeleCorp PCS (former AT&T Wireless affiliate) and the US-unit of Cable & Wireless. John began his career in public accounting with KPMG Peat Marwick and Laventhol. John is a CPA with a Master’s Degree in Taxation from American University and a B.S. in Accounting from University of Maryland.




Col (Ret) Rod Phillips, Vice President, US Army Territory
Rod brings 29+ Years of Mission Critical Telecommunications Experience at Tactical, Operational, and Strategic Levels Supporting Worldwide Joint and Special Missions; Senior Level Accessions Command and Organizational Leadership. Prior to joining By Light, he held served as the Chief Information Officer/G6 for the 1st Corps, Ft Lewis, WA. In that role he directed all Tactical, Operational, and Strategic Command, Control, Communications, Computers, and Intelligence (C4I) architecture for I Corps throughout the Pacific Region and provided the coordination between both joint and combined integration of collaborative functions in support of Department of Defense missions. Over his career, Rod served as the Chief Operations Officer for the Cadet Command, the 5th Recruiting Brigade, the Office of Military Support, Joint Communications Unit and the 122nd Signal Battalion. Rod also served as the Chief Information Officer for the 2nd Infantry Division, 1st SFOD Delta Force, Deputy CIO – 1st SFOD Delta Force, 2nd Ranger Battalion and the 82nd Signal Battalion.

 

Col (Ret) Tracy “Moose” Amos, Senior Vice President, Special Programs
 Prior to joining By Light, Tracy was INDUS Corporation’s Senior Vice President for Defense and Intelligence. Col Amos retired after a distinguished 20 year career in the United States Air Force during which he was primarily assigned to tactical and joint service special operations organizations. In the course of his career, Col Amos commanded at the detachment, squadron (three times), Air Force element, and group level and he has deployed worldwide in support of every U.S. regional combatant commander in the Department of Defense.  Col Amos served as the Commander, White House Communications Agency (Camp David), and, later, Deputy Commander, White House Communications Agency (White House). Tracy culminated his USAF career as Commander, 3rd Combat Communications Group (“3rd Herd”), Tinker AFB, OK. He received his Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science from the University of Missouri and holds Masters' Degrees in Information Systems Management; Personnel Management; Military Studies; and International Strategic Studies.
